Terms of Use

These terms apply to your use of the Untax website and to any enquiry you submit through it. Untax is operated by My Money Mentors Pty Ltd ABN 63 683 148 843. By using this site you agree to these terms.

1. What Untax is

Untax is a marketing and referral service. We advertise a tax return review service and refer interested people to independent registered tax agents in the Untax network.

We are not a registered tax agent. We do not provide tax agent services, tax advice, financial advice or legal advice. Nothing on this website is advice and nothing on it takes account of your particular circumstances.

2. The tax agent relationship

Any review of your tax return, any amendment and any lodgement is carried out by an independent registered tax agent to whom we refer you. The agent discloses their Tax Practitioners Board registration to you before you engage them. You contract directly with that agent on their engagement terms. They are responsible for the services they provide and the advice they give. We are not a party to that engagement and we are not responsible for it.

We receive a referral fee from tax agents in the network where a referral leads to a completed engagement. This does not increase what you pay. We may refer your enquiry to more than one agent where the first is unable to act.

3. The offer, stated plainly

• The review of your lodged return is free. There is no charge for the review, whatever it finds.
• A fee applies only where an amendment is lodged and you receive an additional refund, that is, an amount over and above the refund you already received. The amount depends on the work involved and is quoted by the tax agent in writing before you agree to proceed.
• If there is no additional refund, there is no fee.
• The fee and how it is calculated, is set out in the tax agent's engagement terms before you agree to proceed.

4. No guarantee of a refund

We do not promise that your return can be amended, that you will receive any additional refund, or that any particular amount will be recovered. Eligibility depends on your circumstances and on tax law, amendment time limits apply and the ATO makes the final decision on any amendment.

5. Time limits

Amendment periods are set by tax law. Individuals generally have two years from the date their notice of assessment issues and sole traders and small business generally have four years from the 2024-25 income year. Periods can differ depending on your circumstances. We are not responsible for a time limit that expires, including where you delay in responding to us or to the tax agent.

6. Information you give us

You agree that the information you give us is true and complete as far as you know. Do not send us your tax file number, bank details, or copies of ATO documents. We handle your personal information under our Privacy Policy.

7. Consent to be contacted

By submitting an enquiry you consent to us and the tax agent we refer you to contacting you by phone, email and SMS about that enquiry, including on any number listed on the Do Not Call Register and to calls being recorded where we tell you at the time. You can withdraw consent at any time by telling us.

8. Website content

We try to keep this website accurate and current, but tax rules change and we make no warranty that everything here is complete or up to date. Links to other sites are provided for convenience and we are not responsible for their content.

9. Intellectual property

The Untax name, logo, site design and content are owned by My Money Mentors Pty Ltd or used under licence. You may not copy, reproduce or use them without written permission, other than for your own personal, non-commercial use of this site.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any guarantee, right or remedy you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded. Subject to that and to the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any loss arising out of your use of this website, out of any referral, or out of the services provided to you by a tax agent and our total liability to you is limited to resupplying the referral or paying the cost of doing so.

11. Changes and termination

We may change these terms or the content of this site at any time. The current version is always on this page. We may decline or withdraw a referral at our discretion.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of its courts.
