Privacy Policy
Last updated 29 September 2026
This policy explains how My Money Mentors Pty Ltd ABN 63 683 148 843, trading as Untax, collects, uses, stores and discloses personal information. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
1. Who we are and who we are not
Untax is a marketing and referral service. We are not a registered tax agent, we do not provide tax advice and we do not prepare or lodge returns or amendments. Where you proceed, we refer you to one or more independent registered tax agents in the Untax network, who handle your personal information under their own privacy policy and their own obligations.
2. What we collect
- Identity and contact details: name, email address, phone number, postcode and preferred contact time.
- Enquiry details: the income years you have lodged, your occupation or industry, whether you used an agent and the general categories of expenses you had.
- Communications: emails, messages and notes or recordings of calls where we tell you a call is being recorded.
- Technical information: IP address, device and browser type, pages viewed and referral source, as recorded in our hosting provider's standard server logs.
We collect this information when you fill in a form on this website or email us. We may also receive it from Meta (Facebook or Instagram) when you submit an enquiry through one of our lead forms on those platforms, in which case Meta's own data policy also applies to what you gave them.
We do not ask for and do not want your tax file number. Please do not include a TFN, bank account details or copies of ATO documents in any form or message you send us. A TFN is protected by the Privacy (Tax File Number) Rule 2015 and is collected only by the tax agent, once you have engaged them.
3. Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry and work out whether the service is relevant to you.
- To refer you to a registered tax agent and pass on enough context for them to contact you.
- To send you service messages about your enquiry.
- To send you marketing about Untax, where you have consented or where you would reasonably expect it, always with an unsubscribe option.
- To measure and improve our advertising and our website.
- To meet our legal and record-keeping obligations.
4. Who we disclose it to
- Registered tax agents in the Untax network, so that an agent can contact you and provide the review. We may refer your enquiry to more than one agent where the first is unable to act. Each agent is bound by their own privacy obligations and the Tax Agent Services Act.
- Service providers who operate on our behalf: website hosting, customer relationship management, email and SMS delivery, telephony and call recording and analytics.
- Advertising platforms such as Meta and Google, in hashed or de-identified form, to measure campaigns and build audiences.
- Professional advisers, insurers and regulators, where we are required or permitted by law.
We receive a referral fee from tax agents in respect of completed engagements. We do not sell your personal information to anyone else and we do not disclose it to any agent who has not agreed to our network terms.
5. Overseas disclosure
Some of our providers store or process data outside Australia, including in the United States. This includes our website hosting, the service that delivers form submissions to us and our email provider. Where that happens we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles the information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
6. Cookies and tracking
Our website does not currently use analytics or advertising cookies or pixels. Only the cookies needed to display the site may be set. If we add analytics or advertising measurement in future, we will update this policy first. You can control cookies through your browser settings.
7. Direct marketing
We may contact you by email, SMS or phone about Untax. Every message includes a way to opt out and you can also email info@untax.com.au at any time to stop marketing contact. Opting out of marketing does not stop service messages about an enquiry you have made.
8. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss and unauthorised access, including access controls, encryption in transit and supplier due diligence. We keep enquiry records for three years, then delete or de-identify them, unless we are required to keep them longer. No system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee the security of information you send us over the internet.
9. Data breaches
If a data breach occurs that is likely to result in serious harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
10. Access, correction and deletion
You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email info@untax.com.au. We will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity first and in limited cases we may refuse a request, in which case we will tell you why.
11. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email info@untax.com.au and we will investigate and respond within 3 business days. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
12. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The current version is always on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
